 This is a special poem that Mizuki wrote about Candy's Birthday and the May Festival!  It's taken from the collection of essays that Mizuki wrote at Misaki's JP CC website.http://www.ne.jp/asahi/lakewood/may/candy/sp.html It was first posted in the old forum on May 7, 2007, but during the transfer to this new one, this poem was lost. Fortunately, I was able to find it again to share with our new members.  Much ARIGATO and THANKS  to Lady Gato's friend Dr. Masaki Takai for translating this precious poem so that we can all enjoy it today! Does anyone notice another clue that points to--->   _______________________________________________________ Special Contribution: from the notes of Candice W. Ardlay 五月の扉 The Door of May その扉の前で In front of that door 私は大きく息をつく I take a deep breath 指がふるえて なかなか扉を開けられない ... I have difficulty opening the door because my fingers tremble ... 五月の扉 The door of May つま先まで 思い出がおしよせてきて Memories come welling up all the way to my fingertips 耳元によみがえってくる ワルツの調べ And the notes of a waltz echo in my ears 軽やかな ステップ みんなの笑い声の輪舞(ロンド) The light steps and the (Rondo) of people's laughter イライザとニールまで 笑っている Even Eliza and Neal are laughing サンザシの花冠をつけた アニーのほほえみは Wearing a garland of hawthorn, Annie's smile 五月の光になって アーチーにふり注ぎ まぶしいほど さあ、 Is almost too bright, becoming the light of May showering Archie ステア に パティ めがねをとって その瞳のおくの Stear and Patty with glasses off, 輝きを みせて Show me the sparkle ステア はやく パティにそのすずらんのブーケを In your eyes deep inside Stear, quickly give Patty the bouquet of lilies 五月祭 The May festival 緑の風の香りで息がつまりそう ･･･ My breath is taken away by the scent of the green breeze ... セオドラのたねがみの感触 The feel of Theodora's saddle ･･･ テリュース ...Terrence あなたの 声 わたしだけに呼びかける その声 Your voice, that voice that only calls to me 思い出すと もう 立っていられない ･･･ As I remember, I can barely stand ... 大切な瞬間は いつも 時刻(とき)がとまっている Important moments always stand still in time もういちど あのときに 戻れるならば ･･･ If only I could return to that period ... わたしは ほんとうの誕生日を知らないで しあわせ I am lucky not to know my real birthday 五月じゅうが わたしの 誕生日 The entire month of May is my birthday 五月じゅうが わたしたちのフェスティバル The entire month of May is our festival 若葉が萌えるように 歌ってくれる They sing to me like the sprouting of the new leaves アニーとキャンディ 生まれてきて よかったね と ･･･ Singing how good is it that both Annie and Candy were born ... 思い出は もう はちきれそうな 五月の扉 The door of May overflowing with memories. キャンディ はやく 開けて！バースデイのおそろいの花の首飾りが (Candy hurry open up! the matching flower necklace for your birthday しおれちゃう ･･･ せっかくのアルバートさんのプレゼントなのに) is starting to wilt ... it's a present from Albert.) なに してるんだろう まさか 五月だって忘れてるんじゃないだろうな） (What can she be doing? She can't have forgotten that it's May) アニキとちがうって あめかしに決まってるじゃないか） (She's not like you, Brother, she must be putting on makeup.) そんなにオシャレだったのかなあ？） (Was she always so fashion conscious?) ステア かぎあなをのぞいちゃいけません！ でも ちょっと みせて） (Stear, stop peeking through the keyhole! But let me see a little.) ほらほら、みんな 待ってるんだぞ キャンディ！これ以上待たせると (Hey, everybody's waiting, Candy! If you keep making us wait 帰っちゃうからな we're going to go home! ･･･ う、うそだよ セオドラ つつくなって！） .. Oh Nila dear! That voice! That voice that only calls to me... Is it possible that we're finding so many clues that lead to Terry in what Mizuki wrote years and years ago? Anohito and gentleed voice in the other poem... And now!!!! It's really amazing!!!...
 P.S.: BTW: I wouldn't spoil anything but I remember I read, (but I don't remember where and when ) that in FS too Terry's voice is gentle . OMG!!!! Terry's smiles and voice! They both are anohito's smile and voice at the end of the story!!!   P.S.2: I almost forgot, very unpolite of me: of course arigatou gozaimasu to Dr Masaki for traslating this Candy/Terry jewel poem

I'm so glad you ladies are enjoying the poem!
 Such sweet and poignant memories for Candy. It's really fascinating to discover these little details from Mizuki's old poems, especially when they concern Terry! I've also decided to add the Japanese kanji above the translated text in case some of you were interested.

That is the most beautiful poem Mizuki wrote about Candy!!!!!! It's the first time I see it (thank you Grecia, if it wasn't your post, I would have missed it!!!!!!)

Adding Anne's comment and alternate translation of a verse in the poem!
