Hi Everyone!
Do you know if in Japan the anime episodes were more than 115, because on the internet a couple of videos are circulating about episodes never seen in Italy, so I was wondering if in Japan the Candy Candy serie was longer!

Hi Cinzia!

There were only 115 episodes. smile.gif What you see on youtube are the OVAs (Original Video Animations) or short 20+min films that were released in the late 1970s for the TOEI Manga Festivals. TOEI produced 2 of them at that time and another in 1992.

1) "Call of Spring" (Haru No Yobigoe --キャンディ・キャンディ春の呼び声)
Theater release: March 18, 1978

2) "Candy's Summer Vacation" (Candy No Natsu Yasumi --キャンディキャンディの夏休み)
Theater release: July 22, 1978

3. Candy Candy Movie (1992) キャンディキャンディ '92
Theater release: April 25, 1992

There are english-subbed versions of those OVAs on the net. smile.gif

Candy Candy" Candy's Summer Vacation English Subtitles 1978 OVA

YES!!! girllove.gif It was great that TOEI applied the manga forehead kiss in this OVA! What a special treat! I don't think Terry would ever kiss Candy just for gratitude. teehee.gif

FYI CC Trivia: When this Summer Vacation OVA was shown at the TOEI Manga Festival on July 1978, the anime episode that aired during this month (July 21, 1978) was #88 -- the episode where Terry won the role of Romeo! drawheart.gif Terry was still very popular in Japan, despite his absence in filler episodes after leaving St. Paul's! wink.gif
