Far away in another dimension...
A petite girl with blond curly hair, big green eyes, scattered freckles on her face, cute as a button and a tall lean bodied guy with long dark hair and blue green eyes, more beautiful than a painting, both in their late teens, alone, with nothing else being between them, were sitting opposite each other, their knees almost touching, in a big empty room. On their laps, a big bunch of papers was resting...big bold letters were gracing the front page...Candy Candy. They smiled to each other, a smile coming from their hearts...for they felt it. Keeping their eyes into each other’s...
“So...what is Candy for you?”, the girl asked the guy.
The guy closed his eyes for a moment...maybe travelling somewhere he himself only knew where, with the eyes of his soul.
“Hmmm...Candy for me is like the wind”, he started saying and opened his eyes, staring at the girl straight on her face, keeping her eyes from shifting, “like a light breeze she fills my lungs...the more breaths I take the more I need her...”, he continued with his smooth voice, “she’s unlike any other girl I met...strong, independent but soft and sensitive with a heart that hugs everyone at the same time.”, he finished and took a breath.
He stretched his feet, trapping the girl’s feet between his, pulling them slightly to his direction.
“She’s a tomboy...”, he said again with a chuckle, “she speaks her mind and climbs trees and sticks her tongue out when she’s up to something mischievous...”, he added and rolled his eyes in acceptance of her weird ways, “but most of all...she’s the one that will pick me up when I’m down and beaten...hold my hand...give me a smile...and make my world bright”, he concluded, his voice getting deeper, quieter...
The girl took a deep breath...a slight blushing coloured her cheeks.
“Love her freckles also...”, his words came out slow, while looking at the freckled pink cheeks of the girl.
Her hand touched her flushing cheeks like a breeze, out of instinct.
“What is Terry for you?”, he asked her.
Someone could have said that he looked a tad nervous. She kept her eyes for a brief moment on him...her stare glazed.
She cleared her voice as if trying to break his spell. When she spoke, it was obvious, she wasn’t all together there.
“Terry...”, she was heard to say with a faint soft voice, “Terry for me is like a force of nature...I wouldn’t be able to avoid his presence, even if I wanted to.”, she continued with her eyes glued to the guy, “He behaves as if he’s hard, he is rude and a loner.”, she added and stopped, her eyes trying to pinpoint for a reaction on his face for her words.
He didn’t show anything, keeping his silence.
“Stop for a moment though...keep your breath and listen...”, she started saying again, almost mimicking the movement behind her words, “inside he is bitter and sweet.”, she said with a faint smile on her lips. “He’s full of contradictions...he could be the light rain that wakes up nature on a dry summer’s day, and he could be a full blown storm, stripping regardless everything in its way. He lives for the day...but he needs to believe that there is also a future. But most of all Terry for me is my life force...taking me up, pushing me forward...letting me in...for when you reach his heart...you don’t want to let it go”, she concluded with a way in her voice which showed that she still was looking at his image in her soul.
The guy put the script down on the floor. He pushed his chair closer, his legs were now keeping hers between them. He took her hands into his, with his thumbs drawing smooth circles on hers. He brought his face closer to hers.
“What if he kissed her?”, he said with a voice that was barely heard.
“What if he kissed her...”, she repeated his words while she thought that the sound of her heart beating strong was louder than her voice.
“There is only one way to find out...”, he suggested.
He leaned forward. No more words were heard. The quietness of the empty room surrounded them...maybe someone could hear their heartbeats running wild. Their lips met slow...trembled a little...parted a bit...they were still talking but in a different way. Feelings flowered...breaths acquired a sound and his hands were squeezing hers. Their bodies warmed up. A desert air blew strong inside them...whatever was prone to burning, the air burned. Tongues touched the moment their souls embraced. Reluctant to stop...they did. He looked at her with a playful stare. Her eyes darted back and forth inside his. She thought that was the stare she would remember and love. However, she felt he was teasing her. She pulled back. Her face looked annoyed the way her eyebrows came closer to one another.
“What??”, she said.
He pulled back, releasing her hands.
“Nothing...somehow I thought you’d slap me...”, he said with a wicked smile.
“You tease me!”, she exclaimed. “I have to let you know...I don’t like to be teased by guys like you, ok?”, she said and left a huff.
“You don’t??”, he asked pulling his eyebrow up, “Interesting...”, he commented, “I’ll keep that in mind...”, he finished and winked at her.
He started laughing at her frowned face.
“Relax ok?!”, he tried to get back to her good books, “I won’t do it again miss...Freckles”, his voice sounded happy as Larry.
“Hey!!”, she scolded him but looked like she had forgiven him.
She stopped talking. They looked at each other.
“Kiss was nice...I could get used to those...”, she broke the silence with a faint shyness in the sound of her voice.
“That would be something we agree on...”, he said back with a wide grin.
“So...what will happen to them?? Candy and Terry...?”, she asked him.
Silence once again dropped between them for a moment. Hard to envisage what life hides for everyone...for them it was no different. He took her hands once more into his. His voice cracked a bit when he spoke.
“If you trust me and let me hold your hand in mine for every new day that dawns...we can find out together...”, he said slowly and prompted them to get up.
He took both scripts off them and left them on their seats.
“We won’t need those...”, he said with confidence.
His eyes dived into hers, hope mirroring in them, for the future...
“Ready?”, he asked her.
“As I’ll ever be...”, she replied and squeezed his hand.
“Let’s go miss Freckles...”, he said back to her.
“I love you...”, she whispered.
His steps stopped and turned to her with a wide smile.
“Was waiting for you to say that...”, he said.
She chuckled shyly, like a schoolgirl on her first love admission.
“I hope you don’t expect me to say how I feel for you...you must have an inkling by now...”, he said with a voice full of emotion.
“I do...”, she admitted and her green eyes sparkled.
“Good then! That’s all I need to know...”, he said.
He opened the door. Hand in hand they left the room, switched the lights off and closed the door. Someone could say that their echoes were still swimming in the empty room where the story's scripts remained. For them, the story was just beginning...and they were certain that they’d make it a good one...because Candy and Terry loved one another and that was more than enough...
